Joining  Adderley  for the six tracks here are fellow  Davis  alumni  Philly Joe Jones  on drums and  Bill Evans  on piano. These three are augmented by the wonderful and often-underrated  Blue Mitchell  on trumpet and the equally illustrious  Sam Jones  on bass. Everyone is in top form on a varied set that takes in two  Adderley  originals (the fine ballad "Straight Life" and "A Little Taste"), a classic  Gigi Gryce  number ("Minority"), and  Miles ' oft-covered "Nardis." Filling out the program, we have a rare  Sam Jones -penned cut, "Blue Funk," and a lone standard in the  Rogers & Hammerstein  chestnut from Oklahoma, "People Will Say We're in Love." One of the highlights from  Adderley 's hard bop prime. "Things Are Getting Better" This title provides ample evidence why alto  Cannonball Adderley  is considered one of the masters of his craft. Here he joins forces with  Modern Jazz Quartet  co-founder  Milt Jackson  on vibes to create a variety of sonic atmospheres. They are backed by the all-star ensemble of  Wynton Kelly  on piano,  Percy Heath  on bass, and the one and only  Art Blakey  on drums. The moody "Blues Oriental" opens the set with  Jackson  immediately diving in with his trademark fluid runs and shimmering intonation.  Adderley  counters with a light and lively line that weaves between the rhythm section. The optimistic "Things Are Getting Better" is a good-natured romp as the co-leads trade and cajole each other into some downright rollicking exchanges. This directly contrasts with the sultry "Serves Me Right," which allows the combo members to demonstrate their collective musical malleability. The interaction between  Adderley  and  Jackson  sparkles as they entwine their respective playing with an uncanny singularity of spirit. The cover of  Dizzy Gillespie 's "Groovin' High" contains another spirited performance with some thoroughly engaging improvisation, especially during  Adderley 's voracious solos. "Sidewalks of New York" bops freely as  Jackson  unleashes some sublime licks against a hearty and equally boisterous sax.  Adderley 's "Sounds for Sid" demonstrates his uncanny ability to swing with a strong R&B vibe. With drop-dead timing and profound instrumental chops, this cut is undoubtedly one of the best from  Adderley 's earliest canon. The album concludes with a jumping reading of  Cole Porter 's "Just One of Those Things." While  Wynton Kelly  has been uniformly solid, his interjections stand out here as he bridges and undergirds the two as they banter with flair and aplomb. This set can be recommended without hesitation to all manner of jazz enthusiast, as it quite literally offers something for every taste. [Some reissues include two bonus tracks supplementing the original seven-song running order, alternate takes of "Serves Me Right" and "Sidewalks of New York."]

Released in 1982, it was comprised of eight unreleased tracks recorded between 1970 and 1978. It peaked at #6 on the album charts and has been certified platinum in the U.S. The reissue campaign ends with a double-barrel blast of Led. Coda will be the only Led Zeppelin deluxe edition to include two companion discs, featuring 15 tracks recorded between 1968 and 1974. The oldest song in the collection is also perhaps the most interesting. The frenetic blues jam Sugar Mama was recorded in 1968 at Olympic Studios during sessions for the band s eponymous debut. The song was completed but never officially released until now. Baby Come On Home from the same session is also included in the set. Also included is the previously unreleased St. Tristan s Sword, a rollicking instrumental recorded during the Led Zeppelin III sessions in 1970. This singer-songwriter was also proficient on guitar and harmonica. Shearston moved with his family to Sydney at the age of 12, after his father’s farm was destroyed by drought. By the time Shearston was 19 he was a professional singer performing traditional Australian music in pubs, clubs and on radio and television. In the late 50s he made his first recording, for the Festival label, and this was followed by a number of albums for CBS Records in the early to mid-60s. Two of these albums were described as ‘among the best records of traditional music ever made in Australia’. In 1965, Shearston received an award for the best composition of the year when ‘Sometime Lovin’’ was covered by a number of artists including Peter Paul And Mary. In the mid-60s, together with Martyn Wyndham-Read, he recorded a live album on the Australian Score record label, although CBS would not let Shearston appear on the album. In addition, he had his own folk music television programme.  Shearston then travelled to the USA in 1968 and lived there for the next four years. During the mid-70s Shearston relocated to Britain, where he recorded two albums for Charisma Records. Shearston’s one major hit in the UK came in 1974, when ‘I Get A Kick Out Of You’ made the Top 10. This single made Shearston the first Australian artist to have a simultaneous hit in Britain and Australia. Despite the long gap between albums he carried on and worked the folk clubs of Europe. Returning to Australia from England in 1988, Shearston was made a Deacon of the Anglican Church in December 1991, and has served in the parishes of Narrandera, Deniliquin, Hay, and Bangalow. In 2001, he released his first new studio album in over a decade.

The featured version of "I Love You Too Much" is an earlier version of the song that would later be released on the band's Hysteria album in 1984. The album was released as a digital download in 2008 with a bonus track, a dub version of "I Love You Too Much". A CD version was released as part of the "deluxe edition" release of Dare in 2012,[2] minus Hard Times, but with other extra tracks. In November 2015 a Limited Edition Single-CD is released (only in Japan), same Tracklist as the Dare "deluxe edition".  

ZOMBIES - ZOMBIESIN THE BEGINNING ZOMBIES - ZOMBIESIN THE BEGINNING Limited five 180gm colored vinyl LP set. Hailing from the unlikely setting of St. Albans, The Zombies burst onto the UK and US pop scene in August 1964 with the smash hit She's Not There, penned by keyboard player Rod Argent. Colin Blunstone's breathy vocals set the record apart from the band's contemporaries, and they followed it up with a second hit in Tell Her No. Their debut album Begin Here was released on the Decca label in 1965. Despite issuing several more excellent singles, further chart success eluded the band, although Dusty Springfield covered Argent's If It Don't Work Out (which the band also recorded). The Zombies signed to CBS in 1967 and recorded a new album over the summer, producing the sessions at Abbey Road and Olympic Studios themselves. The result was the classic Odessey And Oracle, but by the time the album was released in April 1968, the band had split up. Time Of The Season went on to be a huge hit in the US in 1969, selling over a million copies. This set is book-ended by the two 'proper' albums that the band recorded, Begin Here and Odessey And Oracle. In between, Early Days and Continue Here round up the band's various A-sides, B-sides and EP tracks. The fourth LP faithfully recreates the R.I.P. album, an intended posthumous release of overdubbed outtakes that was shelved when new band Argent emerged from the ashes of The Zombies. The whole set is housed in a rigid slipcase. The inner sleeves include photos from designer Phil Smee's extensive collection, while the albums are pressed on different coloured vinyl.

Ornette Coleman recorded one of the greatest bodies of work in jazz during a 22-month-long burst of creativity. Between 1959 and 1961, the saxophonist and composer released six studio albums on Atlantic Records that helped usher in the avant-garde, free jazz movement.  - Those albums, along more than two hours of session outtakes, are featured together in the 10-LP boxed set ORNETTE COLEMAN: THE ATLANTIC YEARS, featuring newly remastered audio by John Webber at AIR Studios. Several of these titles are long out-of-print on vinyl. The Ornette Coleman Legacy, featuring six songs originally released for the first time in 1993 as part of Rhino’s CD boxed set Beauty Is A Rare Thing, making its vinyl debut. - On most of his Atlantic albums, Coleman recorded with a quartet that included trumpeter Don Cherry, plus either Charlie Haden or Scott LaFaro on bass, and either Billy Higgins or Ed Blackwell on drums. One notable exception is Free Jazz, a ground-breaking single-track album where Coleman led a double quartet through a nearly 40-minute collective improvisation. The stereo mix used for the album separates the quartets into different channels; one on the right and the other on the left.  - Coleman worked extensively with producer Nesuhi Ertegun on the music featured in this collection. Their partnership began in 1959 with Coleman’s Atlantic debut, The Shape of Jazz To Come, an album the Library of Congress added to its National Recording Registry in 2012.   - Among the albums included in THE ATLANTIC YEARS are three compilations that Atlantic released in the 1970’s: The Art Of Improvisers (1970), Twins (1971), and To Whom Who Keeps A Record (1975.) These albums include outtakes from recording sessions for all six of Coleman’s studio albums.

La unión del Blues- Hard- Rock Sureño añejo con las nuevas tecnologías musicales, parecía utópico tratandose de una banda como esta, pero "Eliminator", publicado en 1983, demostraria lo contrario. Después de semejante éxito la banda y su sequito decidieron dejarse llevar y explotar el filón al máximo, "Afterburner", que salió al mercado el 28 de Octubre de 1985, ahondará aun más en los terrenos electrónicos tan de moda en aquella época y que tan buenos resultados les habian dado. Para ello cuentan nuevamente con temas muy comerciales, en "Sleeping Bag" se covijan guitarras y rítmos sintetizados, baterías electrónicas, los excesos de "Eliminator" elevados al cubo. Un año antes de que saliese este disco, Eddie Van Halen, quizás animado por el resultado satisfatorio del disco de Zz Top, banda por la que sentía una admiración total, graba "Jump". "Stages", tiene bastante en común con el tema estrella de "1984", pero sus melodías son incluso más aoreras. De todas formas, que nadie piense que Billy Gibbons se ha quedado dormido, a lo largo de la canción sus riffs están bien presentes. Como en la siguiente "Woke Up With Wood", entre la inicial "Sleeping Bag" (Otra vez esos sintetizadores) y el sonido global de "Eliminator". En este nuevo trabajo descubrimos algo inédito en Zz Top, las "Power Ballads". Ciertamente, "Rough Boy" es empalagosa y Aor hasta decir basta. El tema, tubo su repercusión mediatica sobre todo en el canal televisivo de moda "Mtv". Pero no debemos encender las alarmas, Dusty Hill recupera el encanto nuevamente con la roquera y efectiva "Can't Stop Rockin'", cargada de topicazos pero con una garra descomunal. "Plantet Of Woman", es uno de los temas a los que mejor le ha sentado el nuevo diseño sonoro de Zz Top. Las poderosas guitarras son las acompañantes ideales de una estrofa y estribillo con muchísimo gancho y comercialidad. Quizás el mejor tema de "Afterburner" con el permiso de "Dipping Low (In The Lap Of Luxuri)", otra canción super "Cool" calcada al mejor repertorio de "Eliminator". El no va más de los rejuvenecios barbudos, para bien o para mal, según se mire las componen "I Got The Message" y "Velcro Fly". En ellas, los sintetizadores ya han tomado el control total. Para los puristas fans de "Fandango" o "Tres Hombres", esto quizás pueda ser la gota que colma el vaso. La despedida con la potente "Delirious", seguro que dejará un buen sabor de boca para todo tipo de seguidores de la banda, los antiguos y los que les descubrimos con este disco. Los miembros del grupo son Billy Gibbons (voz y guitarra), Dusty Hill (bajo y voz) y Frank Beard (batería).
