TALON Talon is a tactical game of space fleet combat between the Terran Confederation and the invading Talonthincanthanadu (Talon) Empire. The game accurately captures the feel of science fiction space combat as seen in the major sci-fi franchises, but it does so very simply. The play test rules, including all the advanced rules, are only 8 pages long. This is a game of fleet combat. Battles with individual ships can be fought, but the game has been designed to be able to easily handle combat with fleets of 3-10 ships. The ships in the game, for the most part, are large ships that have shields, have to charge systems, and maneuver - not just do an Immelman. Each ship class has a specific "Power Curve". All of the energy use for basic systems for the ship are already baked into the Power Curve. This power can be spent as it becomes available throughout a turn to do things like: charge a weapon faster than normal, reinforce a shield, turn the ship faster than normal, etc. depending on the needs of the situation. Perhaps the most innovative part of the game are the counters, which are hexagonal shaped, laminated, and very large (the hexes in the game are roughly the size of a hex in Space Empires). The largeness of the counter allows all of a ship´s systems to be displayed right on the map and the lamination allows the player to mark damage right on the counter with a dry erase marker.

Seasons Seasons is a game of cards and dice which takes place in two phases: The first phase consists of a draft: the goal during this phase will be to establish a strategy for the rest of the game with 9 cards that can be selected (Each card has a specific effect and earns victory points). Once the draft is complete, each player must separate his 9 cards into 3 packs of 3 cards. He will begin the second phase of the game with his first pack of three cards, then gradually as the game progresses, he will receive the other two packets of three cards. Next comes the second phase of play: at the beginning of each round a player will roll the seasons dice (dice = number of players +1). These cubes offer a variety of actions to the players: - Increase your invocation (maximum number of cards you may have placed on table) - Harvesting energy (water, earth, fire, air) to pay the cost of invocation maps - Crystallization energy (during the current season) to collect crystals. These serve both as a resource to rely on some cards, but also many victory points in the endgame. - Draw new cards Each player can choose only one die per turn. The first player will choose among those launched, then the following among those remaining and so on. At each turn, the dice indicate how many remaining cells (1, 2 or 3 boxes) the marker of the seasons ahead. In addition, all the dice are different depending on the season. For example, there are not the same energies to a particular season. Throughout the game, players will therefore have to adapt to these changes. At the end of the game, we add the points of victory on the cards, given the number of crystals possessed. The player with the most victory points wins.

The airship module was originally created and shared in the Scythe Facebook group by Kai Starck. Jamey read over the rules and was impressed both by what the airships added to the game and by the effort Kai had put into the expansion through writing the rules and playtesting it. So Kai, Jakub, and Jamey collaborated to hone the airship module. In the airship module, 2 airship tiles are randomly paired at the beginning of the game (one passive and one aggressive). Each player's airship miniature (a new type of unit; 1 big miniature for each of the 7 factions) has those abilities, as well as the core ability that airships are free to move onto any territory (land or water) and across rivers. Each player starts with their airship on their home base, so they can start moving out of their home area right away. In the resolution module, resolution tiles add a twist to the way each game ends. The exact negative value depends on how much Corruption has been collected throughout the game; the more corrupt you and your fellow Lords are, the more Corruption hurts your score.

Homesteaders is an auction and resource management game in which players bid on the opportunity to build certain types of buildings, then spend resource cubes to build one of several buildings of that type. The buildings confer abilities, income, and points; some automatically and some requiring a worker. The game lasts ten rounds, with each round consisting of an auction phase followed by a building phase. After the last round, players take one final income phase and have one last chance to buy and sell goods and use their building abilities before scores are tallied. Players score for their buildings, bonuses conferred by buildings, and points earned throughout the game from selling resource cubes. The player who builds the best combination of buildings and best manages the nine different resources in the game will score the most points and win – as long as they don't take on too much debt!

However, the original two games have been long out of print. GMT has considered a number of options to address that, from straight reprints to a base game/ campaign module arrangement. Finally, though, the company has decided to P500 an entire new game covering the war in the ETO from 1940-1944. Wild Blue Yonder will be a true deluxe Down in Flames product. It will contain a dozen full campaigns, over 200 aircraft cards, plus all of the necessary targets, resource sheets, and play aids needed for play. All of this will be packaged in a large box similar to the ones for the Combat Commander games. Many of the campaigns will be on the same subjects as those in Rise of the Luftwaffe, 8th Air Force and various C3i modules. However, they will not be simple reprints of those campaigns. Wild Blue Yonder will contain three different types of campaigns, Land Campaigns, Progressive Campaigns, and Operations (The Schweinfurt Raids, for example). The first type will be the familiar “standard” DiF campaign to which players of the system are accustomed. Progressive Campaigns give both players a fixed “order of battle” along with reinforcements and replacements they will have to use throughout the campaign. This will reflect the more attritional nature of these air campaigns. The game will also include one solitaire campaign for players who don't have an opponent available.

In [Omega Protocol], one player takes on the role of the Overseer while two to five other players take on the role of the elite Special Ops team. The Overseer's role in the game is to control all of the alien denizens and challenges the players fate throughout the game. The players are trying to achieve specific scenario-based objectives by exploring a map that's laid out at the start and fighting off the hordes of aliens that the Overseer sends their way. Gameplay is based around adrenaline, which is the currency that the soldier players use to perform actions. They generate adrenaline to do things such as move, attack, and perform special actions like activating an objective space. That generation also has a negative effect for them, as that adrenaline transfers to the Overseer player, who then uses it to spawn aliens, create new threats, and hurt the soldiers' chance of success during the scenario. The more actions the Special Ops players take, the more resources the Overseer player has to work with.
