El sitio de Gibraltar de 1779 o Gran asedio de Gibraltar (en inglés: Great Siege of Gibraltar), el tercero llevado a cabo por España desde la pérdida de la ciudad para recuperar la colonia británica, fue la campaña más importante que se realizó en la zona durante el siglo XVIII y tuvo como antecedentes los asedios de 1704 y 1727. Durante casi cuatro años de bloqueo naval, bombardeos y la novedosa utilización de las llamadas baterías flotantes, el imperio británico fue capaz de resistir la última acción militar española sobre Gibraltar.
