Moissanite was introduced to the jewelry market in 1998 after Charles and Colvard received patents to create and market lab-grown silicon carbide gemstones, becoming the first firm to do so. They currently make their highest quality loose gems under the trademark Forever One. When you purchase these stones from us, you will receive a certificate of authenticity that includes a lifetime warranty on your stone from Charles and Colvard. Generic moissanites are, as the name implies, brand less and are not protected by a registered trademark and are therefore more affordable. This does not mean that their quality is inferior or they will not last as long as Forever One stones.
