The other styles present are: Sitogol (storytelling in vocal style), Pop Minang music with Talempong (small, rounded gongs played with mallets), Tari, and Traditional Minang (music for ceremony and dance) and one brilliant track of Western pop. The music in this collection is from the 1960s through the 1980s and is all but forgotten by many Sumatrans who seem to prefer a more contemporary sound. Many of the older cassette tapes have disappeared from the markets and shops and are now thought of as antiques. As in many other countries around the world, modern technology has eclipsed the need for full ensembles/more organic forms of these pseudo-traditional styles. Keep in mind that this is not a document for the mere purpose of preservation, although it may serve as such. Over the years, they developed a devoted following, spawned bidding wars between major labels, and earned a reputation as a tough live act to follow, from clubs to arenas. With MSI currently on hiatus, Jimmy Urine is extending his creative palette in movie soundtracks and video game music including 'Metronomicon', 'I Want To Be Human', 'The Hive' and more. He has now collected all those songs and is releasing them as one compilation album that will be out on April 28th via The End Records on CD, Digital and Vinyl. In addition to this album, Jimmy Urine is also appearing in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. II movie.

This date has been released under various titles over the years since its original inception as  Teddy Charles' New Directions Quartet Featuring Booker Little and Booker Ervin. Most of the material is straight-ahead bop under the leadership of vibraphonist  Teddy Charles  with  Mal Waldron  on piano,  Addison Farmer  on bass, and Ed Shaunesssy on drums. This is a noteworthy reissue considering that there are so few instances of  Little 's lyrical trumpet style and  Ervin 's passionate tenor recorded together. Original compositions include  Ervin 's "Scoochie,"  Little 's "The Confined Few" and "Witch Fire," Shaunessy's "Blues de Tambour," pianist  Ahmad Jamal 's "Cycles," plus the standard "Stardust" (receiving an especially melancholy treatment.) The only complaint is the lack of liner notes, which excludes information on personnel and session history.

A strong melody, stunning vocals from  Glenn Gregory, and tight production equal a fascinating glimpse into the human struggle. Adding a number of session players, including a guitarist,  Heaven 17  was able to expand and build on their solid sound.  Gregory  is also allowed to branch out on this album and write more personal and political statements that were not clearly heard on their first two albums. Fans will not be disappointed, and in fact, this could be the album to win new fans over. "Sunset Now," and "Flamedown," are just a few of the reasons for this ep greatness.
