Se colocó entre las 70 mejores de Inglaterra. Pero no es una canción dedicada a una mujer y no tiene un contenido muy romántico. Cuenta una triste historia sobre un ingeniero civil. La segunda canción fuerte del álbum ‘ Nothing like the sun’, es en la que Sting rinde homenaje a Ben Linder, un ingeniero civil estadounidense muerto el 28 de abril de 1987 en forma muy despiadada a manos de la ‘Contra’ de Nicaragua. Se trata de la sexta canción del lado dos del álbum y se llama ‘ Fragile ’ (Fragilidad). La muerte de Ben Linder, en momentos que estaba trabajando en un proyecto hidroeléctrico para abastecer de luz a los lugares humildes de la zona norte nicaragüense, fue portada en la mayoría de la prensa mundial. El repudio de las diferentes organizaciones de DDHH no se hizo esperar. Recordemos que el ingeniero Linder, llegó a ese país inspirado en las ideas sandinistas, por lo cual se presume que estaba ‘marcado’ tanto por la guerrilla como por la ‘derecha’ del régimen con intereses del propio gobierno de EEUU. Released as a single the following year, it placed to number 70 on the UK Singles Chart. Sung additionally in both Spanish and Portuguese under the titles "Fragilidad" and "Fragil", it appeared twice more on his 1988 EP variant of the album, Nada como el sol. The Spanish version features as a b-side to "I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying".The song is a tribute to Ben Linder, an American civil engineer who was killed by the Contras in 1987 while working on a hydroelectric project in Nicaragua. The song was featured in the 1992 Academy Award winning documentary film The Panama Deception, about the U.S. invasion of Panama in December 1989. "Fragile" was the opening song in Sting's...All This Time concert, recorded on the evening of the September 11 attacks in 2001. The song also appears in the closing scenes of "Come from the Shadows", episode 59 of 21 Jump Street, the fourth episode of Season Four. The song also appears in the 1995 Oscar nominated documentary The Living Sea.
