HUMAN LEAGUE - HISTERIA - ALBUM VINILO ORIGINAL 1984 PRIMERA EDICION VIRGIN RECORDS HUMAN LEAGUE - HISTERIA - ALBUM VINILO ORIGINAL 1984 PRIMERA EDICION VIRGIN RECORDS En 1984 sale “ Hysteria ”, el grupo parece que quiere hacer un pop mas organico, menos electrónico y menos energico que el ofrecido anteriormente,  contiene tres singles: la sorprendente “ the lebannon ” tanto por las guitarras muy cercanas al rock como por la letra muy política, esta claro que el publico del grupo, acostumbrado a cosas mas ligeras, quedo impactado con esta cancion como adelanto del nuevo album, en la cara b de este single nos encontramos la instrumental " thirteen " que en mi opinion debio ir en el album pues es un tema muy bueno. El invernal medio tiempo “ life on your own ” es quizas el sonido que hubiese sido ideal para todo el album y para diferenciarse de su anterior etapa, sin embargo se trata de un caso mas bien aislado. Luego tenemos la excelente balada “ louise ”, una bonita cancion que parece la segunda parte de " don't you want me " por la letra y que tiene unos bajos envolventes que son una pura delicia. Quizas podriamos añadir a los tres singles del album el tema " so hurt " una cancion muy bien construida con el dramatismo justo y un uso inteligente de los sintetizadores. El pop esta muy presente en el álbum, por ejemplo " i'm coming back ", cabe preguntarse como habrían sonado estas canciones con la producción de Martin Rushent. Jo Callis, deja la banda en medio de la promocion de " Hysteria " poco despues seria sustituido por el bateria Jim Russel que no iba a durar demasiado en el grupo. En medio de esta epoca problematica Phil Oakey disfruto de un momento dulce al colaborar con uno de sus idolos Giorgio Moroder en el single "together in electric dreams" tema principal de la pelicula "electric dreams", este single inesperadamente tuvo un exito masivo, tanto que se planeo un album completo para desarrollar esta colaboracion. Following the worldwide success of their 1981 album Dare, the band struggled to make a successful follow-up and the sessions for Hysteria were fraught with problems. The album name itself is taken from the problematic recording period. Producers Martin Rushent and Chris Thomas both left the project which would eventually be finished by producer Hugh Padgham. By the time Hysteria was released, three years had passed since Dare and the album met with relatively lacklustre success in comparison to its multi-platinum predecessor. Three singles from the album made the top-twenty of the UK singles chart but none of them reached the top-ten and " The Lebanon " was the only single to chart in the US, stalling at number sixty-four on the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at number three in the UK, later being certified Gold by the BPI for sales in excess of 100,000 copies. In 2005, Hysteria was remastered and re-issued with B-sides and extended mixes as bonus tracks. The song "Rock Me Again And Again And Again And Again And Again And Again " is a cover of a 1973 song by Lyn Collins and James Brown. " I Love You Too Much " is a re-recorded version from the Fascination! EP and " Don't You Know I Want You " is a reworked version of the instrumental B-side "Total Panic!" that appeared on the "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" single in 1983.

Por ello en este año 1984 editan el disco Es la guerra. De nuevo vuelven a crear un disco lleno de buen pop rock y sobre todo de ese buen humor tan característico de la banda. Mientras tanto Javier Gurruchaga hace su segunda aparición en el cine, con un personaje secundario en la película de Pedro Almodovar titulada ¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?. Pero sin embargo y a pesar de que el single de este disco se coloco en los puestos de cabeza de muchas listas de éxitos, las ventas, aunque fueron mejores que las anteriores, no llegaron a las expectativas esperadas. La edición en cassette fue doble, ya que contenía el resto de caras B y se tituló Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977–1984. El disco es el resultado de las grabaciones de los conciertos que dio la banda en el actual Hammersmith Apollo de Londres y en Oxford en mayo de 1984. La portada fue diseñada por el mismo Robert Smith, bajo el seudónimo de Toberr, con un fotograma de vídeo de una emisión de televisión en directo el 25 de agosto de 1984 durante el concierto que The Cure ofrecieron en el Barrowland Ballroom situado en Glasgow, Escocia y que tenía la intención de que ilustrase un disco pirata de la banda. Algunos de los temas que los Cure tocaron en los conciertos de mayo de 1984 en Oxford y Londres durante la gira promocional del álbum "The Top", se inmortalizarían en el primer directo oficial de la banda de Robert Smith. Así, de lo poco que se podía salvar del mediocre y antes mencionado "The top", se incluyeron " Shake dog shake " y " Give me it ". También, una revisión más acorde con su estilo del hit discotequero " The walk ". Del oscuro y taciturno "Pornography" dejarían patente una intensidad épica con " One hundred years " y " The hanging garden ". Del tétrico y tormentoso "Faith" se incluiría la menos tenebrosa, esa fantástica " Primary ". Además, la inclusión de " Charlotte sometimes " permitió conocer más ampliamente una de las rarezas inéditas publicadas en formato single de The Cure. Del frío y experimental "Seventeen seconds" se recogería " A forest " en una psicodélica versión que se convertiría a posteriori en la joya del siniestro afterpunk. Finalmente, para cerrar este álbum " 10:15 Saturday night " y " Killing an arab ", los dos temas de su primer single con aquel primerizo powerpop característico. En definitiva, en "Concert - The Cure Live" se recogían las mayores virtudes del primer y más interesante período de una de las bandas más exitosas de la década de los 80. The album was a Top 10 hit in the UK, and was their first studio album to break the Billboard 200 in the US, reaching number 180. Melody Maker praised the album as "psychedelia that can't be dated", while pondering, "I've yet to meet anyone who can tell me why the Cure are having hits now of all times." The Cure then embarked on their worldwide Top Tour with Thompson, Anderson and producer-turned-bassist Phil Thornalley on board. Released in late 1984, The Cure's first live album, Concert consisted of performances from this tour. Near the tour's end, Anderson was fired for destroying a hotel room and was replaced by Boris Williams. Thornalley also left because of the stress of touring. However, the bassist slot was not vacant long, for a Cure roadie named Gary Biddles had brokered a reunion between Smith and former bassist Simon Gallup, who had been playing in the band Fools Dance. Soon after reconciling, Smith asked Gallup to rejoin the band. Concert: The Cure Live is the first live album of English rock band The Cure. It was recorded in 1984 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London and in Oxford. Its cassette tape edition featured on the B-side a twin album of anomalies, titled Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977–1984.
