" Stripped " y " But Not Tonight " fueron compuestas por Martin Gore. Mute CD Bong10,Stripped – Highland Mix 1. «Stripped» 3:51 2. «But Not Tonight» 4:16 3. «Stripped» (Highland Mix) 6:41 4. «But Not Tonight» (Extended Remix) 5:13 5. «Breathing in Fumes» 6:06 6. «Fly on the Windscreen» (Quiet Mix) 4:24 7. «Black Day» 2:37 " Stripped " is Depeche Mode's fifteenth UK single, released on 10 February 1986. It was the first single from the album Black Celebration, and the band's thirteenth overall and sixth consecutive single to hit the UK Top 20, peaking at number 15. " Stripped " is well known for its innovative use of sampling. The underlying beat is a distorted and slowed-down sound of a motorcycle engine running, while the main melody begins with a car's ignition starting, and the end uses sounds of fireworks. The band's U.S. label Sire Records, however, decided to use the B-side " But Not Tonight " on the soundtrack to the movie Modern Girls and included the song on US editions of Black Celebration. As a result, the single was flipped, and released as " But Not Tonight " in the United States to help promote the movie. The band was not happy with this decision, seeing "But Not Tonight" as a useless pop track recorded in less than a day. The single did not chart. Surprisingly, despite previous criticism of the song by the band, an acoustic version of "But Not Tonight" was sometimes performed by Martin Gore on Depeche Mode’s Delta Machine Tour and is included in the 2014 album "Live in Berlin". The other two B-Sides are " Breathing in Fumes " and " Black Day ". " Breathing in Fumes " was a new song using samples from " Stripped ", mixed by the band and Thomas Stiehler. " Black Day " is an acoustic, alternate version of "Black Celebration" sung by Martin Gore, and is co-written by him, Alan Wilder, and producer Daniel Miller – the only Depeche Mode song where Miller receives a writing credit. The " Highland Mix " of " Stripped " was mixed by Mark Ellis (better known as Flood), who in the future would produce Depeche Mode's Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion records. Some editions of the Black Celebration CD include the extended remix of "But Not Tonight" along with "Black Day" and "Breathing in Fumes" as bonus tracks. The music video for "Stripped" was the last Depeche Mode video to be directed by Peter Care and was filmed outside of Hansa Studios in Berlin. The music video for "But Not Tonight" was directed by Tamra Davis and is available in multiple versions. "Stripped" was featured in the film Say Anything....

ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE - GREAT BALLS OF FIRE - VINILO ORIGINAL 1989 PRIMERA EDICION POLYDOR ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE - GREAT BALLS OF FIRE - VINILO ORIGINAL 1989 PRIMERA EDICION POLYDOR Great Balls of Fire! Great Balls of Fire! is a 1989 American biographical film directed by Jim McBride and starring Dennis Quaid as rockabilly pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis. Based on a biography by Myra Lewis and Murray M. Silver, Jr., the screenplay is written by McBride and Jack Baran. The film is produced by Adam Fields, with executive producers credited as Michael Grais, Mark Victor, and Art Levinson. The early career of Jerry Lee Lewis, from his rise to rock and roll stardom to his controversial marriage to his 13-year-old cousin that led to his downfall, is depicted in the film. Until the scandal of the marriage depreciated his image, many had thought Lewis would supplant Elvis Presley as the "King of Rock and Roll" in the 1950s. The story was co-written by Myra Gail Lewis (her autobiography Great Balls of Fire!), the former wife of Jerry Lee Lewis, with Murray Silver. Despite this, co-writer Silver was upset by the lack of accuracy in the film, claiming it was "phoney". Director Jim McBride admitted that it was never his intention to tie his film to the facts, and stated "This movie does not represent itself in any way to be a historical documentary. We use the book as a jumping-off point." Lewis has openly stated that he hates the film and the book it was based on. Lewis did, however, praise Quaid's portrayal of him in the film, saying "he really pulled it off".Quaid even learned to play "Lewis-style" piano for the role. This was the final film of character actor Trey Wilson. He died at age forty from a cerebral hemorrhage in January 1989, prior to the film's release. An original motion picture soundtrack was released by the producers on the Polydor Records label on June 8, 1989. Lewis re-recorded his music from the 1950s for the soundtrack with the title track " Great Balls of Fire," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" and "That Lucky Old Sun." The soundtrack contains 12 tracks. A music video of the song "Great Balls of Fire", with Quaid and Lewis playing the piano and containing snippets of scenes from the film, was featured on the original VHS video release preceding the film. "Lewis Boogie" is also in the film during the closing credits but does not appear on the soundtrack album.

Y sangrar. Pocas veces alguien fue más felizmente triste.   Mainstream is the third and final studio album released by Lloyd Cole and the Commotions. It was produced by Ian Stanley and released by Capitol Records in the US and Polydor in the UK on 26 October 1987. It contained the hits " From the Hip ", " My Bag ", and " Jennifer She Said ". Although the album reached number nine in the UK, it failed to chart in America and was not embraced by all critics: Mainstream is the only Lloyd Cole and the Commotions release not to sell at least 100,000 copies in the US. The album took two years to make as finding a producer proved difficult. The band first went with Chris Thomas, when that did not work out they brought in Stewart Copeland. With Copeland they only recorded one track, " Hey Rusty ", then finally found Ian Stanley. Donegan reflected in 2004 that "with the previous LP, Easy Pieces, we had tried to broaden out and make more of a pop record and it hadn't really worked. It sounded rushed and the songs were not all up to standard. So, a year after Easy Pieces, we went into the studio to try and make something more powerful. But the LP that we actually made took so long that we lost our initial vision by the time we finished it. The songs that Lloyd was writing were more introspective, so the stadium rock idea gradually went out the window." Track listing: All tracks written and composed by Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, except where noted. 1."My Bag" – 3:56 2."From the Hip" (Neil Clark, Cole, Blair Cowan, Lawrence Donegan, Stephen Irvine, McKillop) – 3:57 3."29" – 5:28 4."Mainstream" – 3:14 5."Jennifer She Said" – 3:02 6."Mr. Malcontent" – 4:49 7."Sean Penn Blues" – 3:28 8."Big Snake" (lyrics: Cole, music: Ian Stanley) – 5:16 9."Hey Rusty" – 4:30 10."These Days" – 2:27

Live In The City Of Light is the first (double LP / CD) live album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds. It was released in May 1987 to document their successful worldwide Once Upon a Time tour, and charted at No. 1 in the UK. The album spawned one chart single release, a live version of "Promised You a Miracle". The album was recorded mostly at Le Zénith, Paris in August 1986, with one track recorded in October 1986 in Sydney, Australia. (Although the album was not recorded there, the inside of the gatefold sleeve features a photograph of a concert from the 1986 tour which took place in a square in Locarno, Switzerland). It features the band's 1986 touring lineup, which included second vocalist Robin Clark and percussionist Sue Hadjopoulos. Lisa Germano (at the time, a John Mellencamp band member who would perform on Simple Minds' next studio single, Belfast Child), contributed studio-overdubbed violin on "Someone Somewhere in Summertime" and former Simple Minds member Derek Forbes contributed  bass guitar overdubs. Live In The City Of Light was released as a double vinyl album with the band's logo in gold lettering over black sleeve. The package featured a 12" x 12" attached giant-sized booklet with state-of-the-art photography of the band's performance and outdoor session pictures. This art could not be reproduced faithfully on later CD releases (an original 1st pressing on double-fat jewel case and the USA version packaged in a long box on two separate discs). GARY CROWLEYS LOST 80S - GARY CROWLEYS LOST 80S GARY CROWLEYS LOST 80S - GARY CROWLEYS LOST 80S Triple vinyl LP pressing. Lost 80s presents 30 tracks compiled by Gary Crowley across three 'themed' LPs, from 'Jingly Jangly' indie-pop 7s to the edge of the New Romantic, and Dance grooves. Many of these tracks are rare and very hard to find having not appeared on CDs or LPs since the original 80s releases. The better known artists that do appear here are represented by some of their lesser-known ('lost') tracks. The 80s (and especially the first part) was an amazing time for music. It was a mad, fast, kaleidoscopic rollercoaster ride where the chancers taking your money not only walked the walk; they backed it up with innovative, amazing tunes that changed the way music was made forever. That's certainly how I remember it... Gary Crowley Presented across 3 x Heavyweight 180g pieces of coloured vinyl, and including an introduction and track by track notes by Gary Crowley, plus memories of the era from Nick Heyward (Haircut 100), Sarah Dallin (Bananarama), Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet) Annabella Lwin (Bow Wow Wow), Clare Grogan (Altered Images) and more. So here, spread over these three LPs, I've collected together the best (in my personal opinion) of the guitar bands, the dance acts and the synth groups that made up the soundtrack of that gloriously thrilling decade for me and my friends. Let me just state for the record, you'll find no Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Duran Duran, Dire Straits or the like appearing on these discs...

However, even though many of the songs on this soundtrack are not as memorable as their more popular collaborations, this album is not that bad. In fact, many of the songs are quite catchy, including "The World Is a Circle" and "Reflections." Some of the vocals are sung by the actors, including  Sally Kellerman  and the late  Bobby Van.  Burt Bacharach  has a certain knack for production of not-so-great singers (himself included) and, fortunately, it shows here with the actors. Other actors had their singing parts dubbed by more seasoned vocalists.  Shawn Phillips  is the singer on the title track.

GARY SHEARSTON: DINGO [ESP 1974] LP GARY SHEARSTON: DINGO [ESP 1974] LP Gary Shearston   "Dingo"  LP (Charisma)  1974  made in Spain cat. num.  63 69 958 #folk rock  #pop rock   Dingo   Back Of Beyond   Witnessing   I Get A Kick Out Of You   The Lightkeeper Of America   Seagull And Swan   The Ballad Of Blasted Creek   Lump In The Bed   Aborigine   Without A Song   b. 9 January 1939, Inverell, New South Wales, Australia. This singer-songwriter was also proficient on guitar and harmonica. Shearston moved with his family to Sydney at the age of 12, after his father’s farm was destroyed by drought. By the time Shearston was 19 he was a professional singer performing traditional Australian music in pubs, clubs and on radio and television. In the late 50s he made his first recording, for the Festival label, and this was followed by a number of albums for CBS Records in the early to mid-60s. Two of these albums were described as ‘among the best records of traditional music ever made in Australia’. In 1965, Shearston received an award for the best composition of the year when ‘Sometime Lovin’’ was covered by a number of artists including Peter Paul And Mary. In the mid-60s, together with Martyn Wyndham-Read, he recorded a live album on the Australian Score record label, although CBS would not let Shearston appear on the album. In addition, he had his own folk music television programme.  Shearston then travelled to the USA in 1968 and lived there for the next four years. During the mid-70s Shearston relocated to Britain, where he recorded two albums for Charisma Records. Shearston’s one major hit in the UK came in 1974, when ‘I Get A Kick Out Of You’ made the Top 10. This single made Shearston the first Australian artist to have a simultaneous hit in Britain and Australia. Despite the long gap between albums he carried on and worked the folk clubs of Europe. Returning to Australia from England in 1988, Shearston was made a Deacon of the Anglican Church in December 1991, and has served in the parishes of Narrandera, Deniliquin, Hay, and Bangalow. In 2001, he released his first new studio album in over a decade.

A 1.- "Modern Love" – 4:46 2.- "China Girl" (Bowie, Iggy Pop) – 5:32 3.- "Let's Dance" – 7:38 4.- "Without You" – 3:08 LADO B 1.- "Ricochet" – 5:14 2.- "Criminal World" (Peter Godwin, Duncan Browne, Sean Lyons) – 4:25 3.- "Cat People (Putting Out Fire)" (Bowie, Giorgio Moroder) – 5:09 4.- "Shake It" – 3:49 " Let's Dance " is the title song from English singer David Bowie's 1983 album of the same name. It was also released as the first single from that album in 1983, and went on to become one of his biggest-selling tracks. Stevie Ray Vaughan played the guitar solo at the end of the song. The single was one of Bowie's fastest selling to date, entering the UK Singles Chart at number five on its first week of release, staying at the top of the charts for three weeks. Soon afterwards, the single topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Bowie's second and last single to reach number 1 in the U.S. In Oceania, it narrowly missed topping the Australian charts, peaking at number two, but peaked at number one for 4 consecutive weeks in New Zealand. The single became one of the best selling of the year across North America, Central Europe and Oceania. " Let's Dance " was described by Ed Power in the Irish Examiner as "a decent chunk of funk-rock". Writing for the BBC, David Quantick said "the combination of Bowie and Rodgers on the title track was perfect – Bowie’s epic lyric about dancing under 'serious moonlight' and the brilliant filching of the crescendo 'ahh!'s from the Beatles' version of the Isley Brothers' 'Twist and Shout' were masterstrokes, each welded to a loud, stadium-ised drum and bass sound". The song introduced Bowie to a new, younger audience oblivious to his former career in the 1970s. Although the track was his most popular to date, its very success had the incongruous effect of distancing Bowie from his new fans, with Bowie saying he did not know who they were or what they wanted. His next two albums, made as an attempt to cater to his new-found audience, suffered creatively as a result and Bowie cited them as the albums he was least satisfied with in his career. In 2007, Bowie gave R&B singer Craig David permission to sample the song for his single "Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)".

Mothers Heaven is the second album from the Scottish rock band Texas. The album was released on 23 September 1991 by Mercury Records. The album peaked at no. 32 in the UK and spent 4 weeks on the charts. The album saw the release of four singles, the lead single released from Mothers Heaven was entitled " Why Believe in You " which only managed to reach #66 on the UK Singles Charts in September 1991. Follow on single, the alternative rock track, " In My Heart " was released in October 1991 but only managed to reach #74 in the United Kingdom. However, "In My Heart" became Texas's last song to date to chart in the United States, peaking at #14 on the Billboard Hot Rock Tracks chart. The song also reached #44 in France. The release of a third single was based entirely on the success of the band in countries such as France, Spain and other European countries, as the band's singles were doing particularly poorly in their native United Kingdom. The third single, " Alone with You ", saw Texas return to the UK Singles Charts Top 40 (for the first time since their debut single three years earlier), peaking at #32. The single also continued the success of the band in France, reaching #28. The fourth and final single, a remix of the title track "Mothers Heaven" was released in 1992, but failed to chart in any countries. Ironically, after the disappointing performance of singles from the album, the band then released a new cover version of the Al Green classic "Tired of Being Alone", which returned them to the UK Top 20. The track was not available on any album until the band's Greatest Hits album released in 2000. Mothers Heaven is the band's lowest charting album in the UK where it remains uncertified, however, it has been certified Gold in both France and Switzerland. All songs written by Johnny McElhone and Sharleen Spiteri except as indicated. Tracks: 1."Mothers Heaven" 2."Why Believe in You" 3."Dream Hotel" 4."This Will All Be Mine" 5."Beliefs" 6."Alone with You" 7."In My Heart" 8."Waiting" 9."Wrapped in Clothes of Blue" 10."Return" 11."Walk the Dust" (Ally McErlaine / McElhone / Spiteri)

«Shake Dog Shake» 4:14 2. «Primary» 3:29 3. «Charlotte Sometimes» 4:06 4. «The Hanging Garden» 4:05 5. «Give Me It» 2:49 6. «The Walk» 3:31 7. «One Hundred Years» 6:48 8. «A Forest» 6:46 9. «10:15 Saturday Night» 3:44 10. «Killing an Arab» 2:51 In 1984, the Cure released The Top, a generally psychedelic album on which Smith played all the instruments except the drums—played by Andy Anderson—and the saxophone—played by returnee Porl Thompson. The album was a Top 10 hit in the UK, and was their first studio album to break the Billboard 200 in the US, reaching number 180. Melody Maker praised the album as "psychedelia that can't be dated", while pondering, "I've yet to meet anyone who can tell me why the Cure are having hits now of all times." The Cure then embarked on their worldwide Top Tour with Thompson, Anderson and producer-turned-bassist Phil Thornalley on board. Released in late 1984, The Cure's first live album, Concert consisted of performances from this tour. Near the tour's end, Anderson was fired for destroying a hotel room and was replaced by Boris Williams. Thornalley also left because of the stress of touring. However, the bassist slot was not vacant long, for a Cure roadie named Gary Biddles had brokered a reunion between Smith and former bassist Simon Gallup, who had been playing in the band Fools Dance. Soon after reconciling, Smith asked Gallup to rejoin the band. Concert: The Cure Live is the first live album of English rock band The Cure. It was recorded in 1984 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London and in Oxford. Its cassette tape edition featured on the B-side a twin album of anomalies, titled Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977–1984.

CHICAGO: HOT STREETS [CBS - ESP 1990] LP CHICAGO: HOT STREETS [CBS - ESP 1990] LP Chicago   "Hot Streets"  LP (CBS)  1990  made in Spain cat. num.  LSP 982369 1 #pop rock   Alive Again 4:17 The Greatest Love On Earth 3:43 Little Miss Lovin' 4:32 Hot Streets 5:12 Take A Chance 4:35 Gone Long Gone 3:55 Ain't It Time 4:08 Love Was New 3:32 No Tell Lover 4:15 Show Me The Way 3:18   Although  Chicago  tragically marked its decade anniversary with the bitter loss of lead guitarist  Terry Kath,  Hot Streets  (1978) was not only the first release without him, it was also the band's initial offering away from  James William Guercio  -- with whom the group had worked on every one of its previous dozen long-players.  Donnie Dacus  (guitar/vocals) was brought in to fill  Kath 's formidable shoes. His maiden voyage would likewise mark the beginning of a downward spiral in terms of the string of hits that was usually associated with  Chicago  albums. Both the upbeat and pumping opener "Alive Again" and the typical adult contemporary balladry of "No Tell Lover" became their last Top 40 hits for nearly four years.  Phil Ramone 's production gives the material an added and noticeable bite. The  Peter Cetera  (bass/vocals) rocker "Little Miss Lovin" recalls the band's earliest sides by blending an aggressive backbeat with a funky and soulful rhythm. "Gone, Long, Gone," the disc's other  Cetera contribution, also stands out for  Dacus ' spot-on slide guitar intonation, which mimics a similar style used most notably by  George Harrison. Although it failed to chart when extracted as a single, Robert Lamm's (keyboards/vocals) "Love Was New" is one of the more jazz-influenced tunes on  Hot Streets. The laid-back groove effortlessly carries the melody behind a fusion of light rock and contemporary jazz. The rapidly changing pop music landscape, whose horizons would embrace disco and new wave, would all but abandon  Chicago  for the group's next few albums. Although the band attempted to adapt to the trends, it would be four LPs and four years before  Chicago  would re-emerge in full form on its comeback,  Chicago 16  (1982).

YOUNG NEIL & PROMISE OF - VISITOR YOUNG NEIL & PROMISE OF - VISITOR When Neil Young entered Shangri La Studio with the band Promise Of The Real a few months ago, there were a lot of images and feelings careening around his soul. The country was heading in a direction Young had never seen, even though up until then he thought he'd seen it all. But something different was happening, and it had gotten inside his music. I'm a Canadian by the way and I love the USA, he sings on the first song Already Great. The ethos of The Visitor can be summed up in the refrain of Already Great where Young insists, Already great, you're already great. You're the promise land, the helping hand. No wall. No hate. No fascist USA. WHOSE STREET? OUR STREET. From those words, Neil Young was ready to take a musical journey on his new album The Visitor like he had never taken before. It was one where he'd even surprise himself, always the mark of a creative leap. By the end of the recording sessions, he knew he'd made his most diverse album going all the way back to Harvest in 1972, when America was also in the throes of becoming unhinged. Neil Young didn't blink then, and he is not blinking now.
