Quienes vieron a Simple Minds actuar en aquella gira tuvieron la impresión de que la banda estaba cerrando un capítulo importante de su carrera, como si quisiera pasar página. Cuando en la primavera de 1987 se publica el doble álbum en vivo 'In the city of light', grabado en el Zenith de París, el grupo vuelve a acelerar los corazones de sus miles de fans. Sus cuatro caras contienen una hora y media de gran rock, una suma de toda la producción de la banda escocesa. Live In The City Of Light fue un disco en directo, editado en 1987, en donde se plasmaba la extensa gira del grupo por aquel entonces, grabado durante la actuación de 2 noches en París en 1986. El disco tuvo un gran éxito comercial pero no fue capaz de demostrar el gran directo de la banda. Tras la extenuante gira, el grupo decide tomarse un descanso. Después de 10 años sin pausa se necesitaba buscar un poco de calma. La banda estaba colocada entre las más grandes pero la presión llegó a ser terrible por lo que no tuvieron más remedio que parar antes de que el éxito les desbordara y sobrepasara. Durante estos años, Simple Minds fue un gran colaborador y divulgador de Amnistía Internacional. Live In The City Of Light is the first (double LP / CD) live album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds. It was released in May 1987 to document their successful worldwide Once Upon a Time tour, and charted at No. 1 in the UK. The album spawned one chart single release, a live version of "Promised You a Miracle". The album was recorded mostly at Le Zénith, Paris in August 1986, with one track recorded in October 1986 in Sydney, Australia. (Although the album was not recorded there, the inside of the gatefold sleeve features a photograph of a concert from the 1986 tour which took place in a square in Locarno, Switzerland). It features the band's 1986 touring lineup, which included second vocalist Robin Clark and percussionist Sue Hadjopoulos. Lisa Germano (at the time, a John Mellencamp band member who would perform on Simple Minds' next studio single, Belfast Child), contributed studio-overdubbed violin on "Someone Somewhere in Summertime" and former Simple Minds member Derek Forbes contributed  bass guitar overdubs. Live In The City Of Light was released as a double vinyl album with the band's logo in gold lettering over black sleeve. The package featured a 12" x 12" attached giant-sized booklet with state-of-the-art photography of the band's performance and outdoor session pictures. This art could not be reproduced faithfully on later CD releases (an original 1st pressing on double-fat jewel case and the USA version packaged in a long box on two separate discs). Kaizoku-Ban es el primer extended play en vivo de la banda alemana de heavy metal Accept, publicado en 1985 por RCA Records para el mercado europeo y por el sello Portrait para los Estados Unidos. Su grabación se realizó el 19 de septiembre de 1985 en el recinto Aichi-ken Kinrou Kaikan de Nagoya, Japón, en el marco de la gira promocional de Metal Heart bonita carpeta texturada con ligero desgaste en esquina inferior, vinilo exc En 1985, Accept eran la banda alemana más importante del Planeta después de Scorpions. Contaban con una discografía intachable, un repertorio que en cualquier momento podía dejar en evidencia a cualquiera de los Cuatro Grandes –AC/DC, KISS, Maiden, Judas- a poco que se descuidaran, y el line-up perfecto. Hermann Frank es muy bueno, Mark Tornillo lo está haciendo muy bien, pero Accept son los cinco tíos que jugaban a la ruleta rusa vestidos de cosacos en la portada del disco de 1986, su obra maestra oculta. Fischer, Hoffmann, Kaufmann, Baltes y Dirkschneider habían grabado “Metal Heart” en 1985, giraban ya como cabezas de cartel por Europa y Asia, sus shows representaban el arquetipo de todo lo que es grandioso en el Heavy Metal, y de regreso al estudio se encerraron para preparar “Russian Roulette”, y comenzar de nuevo el ciclo en que llevaban metidos desde su formación en la segunda mitad de los 70. Meses antes de que “Tv War”, “It´s Hard to Find a Way”, “Aiming High” y todas aquellas maravillosas canciones de los Accept más irresistibles y equilibrados vieran la luz, su compañía puso en circulación esta galleta registrada en Japón, acaso el mejor Ep en vivo de toda la historia del Heavy Metal. Seis canciones que se repetían en cada una de las dos caras del cassette de la portada con impactante trazo oriental, con los cinco músicos en estado de gracia, interpretando cuatro temas del reciente “Metal Heart”, más dos del anterior, “Balls to the Wall”. Ni rastro de “Fast as a Shark”, “Breaker”, “Princess of the Dawn”, “I´m a Rebel” y demás clasicazos; a cambio unas vibrantes “Love Child” y “Screaming for a Love-Bite”, unas demoledoras “Metal Heart” y “Living for Tonite”, un “Up to the Limit” inmejorable, y la fabulosa “Head Over Heels”, que se llevaba casi seis de los menos de 30 minutos que dura el álbum, y te dejaba un nudo en la garganta, desde la pulsación inicial del bajo, esa extraña línea de guitarra, el dolorido aullido de Udo, y el agónico final. Este es uno de esos discos que tal vez ya no oigo tanto, pero siendo un crío abusé de él hasta quemarlo. Pocos grupos han sido capaces de decir tanto con tan poco. Todavía pueden hacerme llorar de emoción las melodías de las guitarras bajo el preestribillo de “Love Child”, los breaks de batería de Kaufmann, el punteo de Hoffmann en “Screaming…”, el tono de dragón del pequeñajo. Y qué decir del hostión, del puñetazo en la mesa que parecen soltar cuando se lanzan con el arrollador riff que presenta “Living for Tonite”. Y como no entusiasmarse otra vez, casi treinta años después, con el solo Beethoviano en la celebérrima “Metal Heart”. Este grupo norteamericano de rock y hard rock originarios de la ciudad de Cleveland, Ohio, atesoran tras de si una rica pero poco valorada obra discográfica y que es primordial en la historia del rock; por él habrían de pasar excelentes músicos, fundamentales luego en el devenir de bandas importantes dentro del panorama rock La formación inicial cuenta con Glen Schwartz (guitarra), Tom Kriss (bajo) y el líder y fundador, el batería Jim Fox que a mediados de 1966 logran una reputada fama en el circuito de rock de Cleveland y sus alrededores. Pero esta alineación duraría poco ya que a principios del 69, Schwartz abandona para unirse al grupo Pacific Gas and Electric y es sustituido por el guitarrista Joe Walsh, quien pronto toma las riendas del grupo con su personalidad y su talento. En esta época el grupo llego a talonear a Cream en la ciudad de Detroit, realizando una soberbia actuación que no hizo más que asentar la calidad e incrementar la popularidad del grupo a nivel nacional. El primer LP, Yer album (69), les revela como gran banda. Tras él se va Kriss y entra Dale Peters (bajo y voz). Con esta formación, el trío graba sus tres mejores obras: Rides again (70), Thirds (71) y el doble LP grabado en vivo Live in concert (72). Y con el respaldo de Pete Townshend, James Gang se presentan en Europa con gran éxito, teloneando a The Who. Posteriormente la banda intervendría en la película Zachariah, un musical western surrealista basado en la novela de Herman Hesse; Siddartha. En noviembre de 1971, Joe Walsh decide abandonar la nave para seguir en solitario una carrera llena de éxitos. Walsh junto a Joe Vitale y Kenny Passarelli formarían la banda Barnstorm y publicaron su primer álbum Barnstorm (1972) y un año despues el excelente álbum The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get (1973) que contenía el hit Rock Mountain Way que se convertiría en uno de los clásicos del rock de todos los tiempos. Poco después la desgracia de ceba con Walsh al perder a su hija pequeña en un atropello. Destrozado por esta perdida Walsh decide disolver el grupo y se retira durante mas de un año, hasta que casi a finales de 1974 se anima a publicar su primer álbum en solitario So What (1974) al que seguirán los exitosos You Can't Argue with a Sick Mind (1976), But Seriously Folks (1978) o There Goes The Neighborhood.(1981). Pero sin duda seria su entrada como guitarrista de The Eagles y su primordial contribución al apoteósico Hotel California (1976) y al magnifico The long Run (1979) lo que le llevaría al estrellato mas absoluto. Pero siguiendo con James Gang, después del abandono de Joe Walsh la banda se amplia con varios músicos mas por un lado Domenic Troyano (guitarra y voz) y por otro Roy Kenner (voz) que junto a Fox y Peters, graban los álbumes Straight shooter (72) y Passin' thru' (73). En 1973, es Troyano quien abandona para unirse a The Guess Who, siendo reemplazado por el guitarrista Tommy Bolin con el se publican los brillantes Bang (73) y Miami (74). Pero el año siguiente Bolin acepta la llamada de Roger Glover para unirse a Deep Purple en sustitución de Ritchie Blackmore, siendo seguido de Kenner, que también deja la banda. En 1975, Fox y Peters reaparecen con Rick Shack (guitarra) y Buba Keith (guitarra y voz), con quienes graban los mediocres Newborn (75) y Jesé come home (76), que se convierten en los dos últimos trabajos oficiales del grupo y posteriormente se precipita la disolución definitiva de James Gang. Ya en 1972 se había editado el recopilatorio The best of James Gang, con lo mejor de la etapa estelar, en la que Joe Walsh era el hombre fundamental de una banda que ha pasado a la historia como una de las pioneras del hard rock norteamericano.
