Il narratore rievoca la storia dello zio, Medardo di Torralba, che, combattendo in Boemia contro i Turchi, è tagliato a metà da un colpo di cannone. Le due parti del corpo, perfettamente conservate, mostrano diversi caratteri: la prima metà mostra un'indole crudele, infierisce sui sudditi e insidia la bella Pamela, mentre l'altra metà, quella buona, si prodiga per riparare ai misfatti dell'altra e chiede in sposa Pamela. I due viscconti dimezzati si sfidano a duello e nello scontro cominciano a sanguinare nelle rispettive parti monche. Un medico ne approfitta per riunire le due metà del corpo

Originally intended to be sold alongside performances of LaVice Hendrick's ambitious but ill-fated musical theater production, the album's scarcity was swiftly ensured as Two Sisters From Bagdad ran for just two weeks at Detroit's Bethel A.M.E. church amid poor attendances due to scant promotion. With only a handful of copies sold in that brief window, many of the remaining copies were subsequently destroyed in a basement flood, meaning that until now few people have ever heard the album in it's entirety. A varied set of jazz and gospel infused funky soul, Two Sisters From Bagdad was composed and orchestrated by two precocious young talents, E.J. Garrison and Rhodia McAdoo. It's an album full of surprises, and is notorious for the heavy funk workout Though's Were The Days. Not only have Jazzman Records unearthed and faithfully reissued this true obscurity as the 26th part of their ongoing Holy Grail series, but through interviews with Garrison and McAdoo themselves, they have uncovered the beguiling back story to the music, the play and the life and times of it's original creator, the late LaVice Hendricks. As always the detail is revealed for the first time in Jazzman Records' extensive new sleeve notes.

Nastradamus is the fourth studio album by American rapper Nas. It was originally scheduled to be released as a follow-up album composed of material from recording sessions for his third album, I Am... Due to bootlegging of the material, Nas decided to record all new material under the title Nastradamus to meet it's November 1999 release date. The album includes one of the earliest shots fired in the soon-to-be epic Jay-Z/Nas feud. On Nastradamus' title track, Nas raps 'You wanna ball till you fall? / I can help you with that / You want beef? / I could let a slug melt in your hat'. The album also includes the single 'You Owe Me' featuring Ginuwine. Achieving commercial success, the album was certified Platinum in sales by the RIAA, went to #2 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart followed by chart positions in Germany and Holland.

This is the first in a series of 10 albums which will explore post war country boogie recordings. Due to post war austerity maintaining a large band was too costly and the result was the beginning of small combos. The cowboy singers had to be heard and amplification of the instruments was replacing the acoustic cowboy sound, they had to play louder at Juke Joints to be heard over the often rowdy crowds. The music itself is a wonderful rhythmic fusion of hillbilly and western music blended with black blues and rhythm influences. The album is informatively annotated by Kevin Coffey offering fascinating insights into the artist's music and the musicians who provided the compelling rhythms. The 100g, 10 vinyl album is housed in a high quality gatefold sleeve which opens out to display numerous vintage images with many rare photographs to add a face to the music.
