This is proved through this 10inch album, a reissue of an original Brazilian 1956 Bill Haley & His Comets platter,which is one of the rarest amongst hard-to-find albums, today. Bill Haley & His Comets already started to rock around the world with Rock Around The Clock in 1955 which was also the title song in the movie 'Blackboard Jungle'. He became the first boss of Rock and he eventually also reached the country of Brazil in 1956. Haley got millions of fans in Brazil and therefore he went on several tours throughout the country of Brazil during the following years. It started with two movies starring Bill Haley & His Comets, 'Rock Around The Clock', and 'Don't Knock The Rock', which found their ways into Brazilian movie theaters resulting into decisions by the record company Decca to issue Haley's records in slightly different forms in Brazil as well. Those platters are some of today's most sought-after collector's items because of their limited ordinance. Besides the title track on 'See You Later, Alligator - Rock'n'Roll com Bill Haley e seus Cometas', there are more hit-songs such as The Saints Rock'n'Roll, an adaption of the late standard When The Saints Go Marching In, Teenager's Mother (Are You Right?), plus some songs from the above mentioned movies, including the breath-taking instrumental Rudy's Rock, which features Haley's saxophone-man, Rudy Pompilli. All these songs are not only music history but dancefloor fillers! The key bandmembers were already well known to Australians. Lead singer  Glenn Shorrock  had made his name in mid-'60s group  the Twilights, a  Beatles -sounding pop group that scored a national number one record with its version of  the Velvelettes ' "Needle in a Haystack." When the group broke up in 1969,  Shorrock  became lead singer of  Axiom, whose "A Little Ray of Sunshine" is still an Australian classic rock staple.  LRB 's  Beeb Birtles  had been the bass player for a popular  Twilights -era pop group called  Zoot  (Rick Springfield was a later member). When that group broke up, in search of musical credibility,  Birtles  auditioned as the bass player, but was instantly elevated to a front-line position alongside  Graham Goble. Even  LRB 's manager was well-known.  Glenn Wheatley  had been the bassist with another of Australia's bands, and possibly its most legendary,  the Masters Apprentices. Given all that background, when  Shorrock  and  Birtles  revealed they were forming a group with  Goble, managed by  Wheatley, it was major event in Australian music.

The original  Peaches, Francine Hurd Barker, a Washington, D.C., native, earned the childhood nickname "Peaches" because of her genteel manner. She sang in neighborhood groups and in her teens she became the lead singer for a group named the Keynotes. Starting her own group, the Darlettes, they auditioned for and were signed to D.C.-area label Date Records, where their name was changed to the Sweet Things.  The majority of their Polydor hits were written by  Perren,  Dino Fekaris, Kenny St. Lewis, and Melvin Ragin. Though there were other hits on Polydor, none came close to the success of their early- to mid-'60s Date singles. Though  Herb Fame believes it can happen again and employs a new "Peaches" to keep the name current while he holds down a job in the Washington, D.C. police department.

Leaving behind the more traditional trappings of his R&B-inflected debut, he instead looked to the synthesized future, driving his organic bass and guitars into what amounted to a concept album of sorts, fueled by memories of lazy Saturday B-movie afternoons. Bright, punchy pop punctuates this set. From the quirky sci-fi of "Plan-9" and the contemporary urban groove on "State Your Mind," which is one of the album's better tracks,  Rodgers  fills the space with eminently danceable, if somewhat same-y, songs using synthesizer tricks to thrill. "Let's Go out Tonight," meanwhile, proved the album's hot prospect, dipping into the Top 100, giving  Rodgers  his only solo chart hit. Rounding things out are the ballad "Wavelength" and  Rodgers ' immaculate instrumentation -- most notably the guitar and bass, which bound through the funky "Groove Master" with glee. Perhaps a little too light on substance,  B-Movie Matinee  still manages to please. Being  Nile Rodgers  can't be easy, as the mere mention of his name conjures such strong sonic images from his  Chic  canon, and it's hard to ignore those predispositions when listening to his solo material. But that's no detriment to the fine set he's unleashed here.
