Art Deco diamond ring with a large principal diamond of 0.52ct (estimated) old European cut, having two other mine cut diamonds to each shoulder. A classic designed ring from the early 1920's with a later historic engraving to the inside of the shank of; 'JM -AHR' and the date of 25th December, 1950 (25-12-50) which is a later narrative of this lovely antique ring. The ring shows historic wear commensurate with age and general use, the metal marks have gone, tests as platinum, diamonds test as diamonds. The cut of the large stone is beautiful but it has a natural flaw to the crown facet extending to the side of the table facet. This initially looks like a chip but it is a carbon flaw that compromises the surface of the stone there when the stone was initially cut, all seen when viewed closely with a loop, not apparent with the naked eye. The carat weight and colour of the central stone are very good, two side diamonds are worn and a lower quality. Absolutely stunning on the finger with outstanding refraction and sparkle. We have sypathetically re-polished the ring and overall the shank is very good, a pretty antique ring, better that the photos. Note antique box is not included, this lovely ring will be sent in a new ring box.
