Exquisitely rendered and so very elegant. This Victorian glass front and back locket is rich in detail and design. Set with 40 seed pearls in 18KT Gold cut down collets surrounding the entire front of the locket. The rear is simply glass with an 18KT Gold bezel. Locket opens easily from a side opening. The portrait inside is removable. An incredible miniature portrait of a beautiful young girl with ribbons in her hair and a string of beads around her neck. This locket is in perfect condition considering its age. Circa late 1800s. It was clearly lovingly cared for. Not marked but tested 18KT. English in origin. 26.8 grams. Chain may be purchased separately. 1.75 inches diameter.
