CARPET PROJECT KNITTING & CROCHET BAG YARN STORAGE CRAFT | EN ESPAÑA

This June Cori talked about the retro style of my carpet bags in her knitting podcast (YouTube: Irocknits), and she suggested us to develop knitting bags for knitters, since then I started to design the project bags. For most knitters, knitting is not only about yarn and projects, as those I talked to in past months, it's part of their lives, even a year-round obsession like my aunt, knitting bags are an essential companion in most of their time and for years. Basically my knitting bags are modified from the carpet weekender and purse, because they are classic, reliable and stylish. The hinge frame closure ensures your yarn remains snag-free; The bag stands on its own that protects yarn and notions well, keeps them organized all the time, and makes it convenient when you work on your knitting on a flight or sitting in park; The carpet is padded with light weight layer so the bag is not heavy at all, you can take it with you wherever you go. For this knitting bags collection I designed one project bag and one knitting needles case, both in large and small 2 sizes. Project knitting bag features: Handles: I made integrated handheld and shoulder carry handles on this knitting bag to have 2 carry options, handheld handles with leather and shoulder carry with carpet, they share the leather tab and look very neat. Outer Pocket: There is a full size zipper outer pocket on this knitting bag for patterns and needles storage, metal zipper closure and enforced with leather patches at ends. The width of this pocket is perfect to fit the needles case in my store. (Only the small case fits in small size knitting bag.) Interior Space: I made the bottom 0.75 to 1 inch deeper than the original bags so there is more space for yarn, and the frame opening is adjusted to be wider according. Organizers: There are 6 storage organizers and one zipper pocket with leather window for yarn notions and all of your knitting and crochet supplies. Interior Lining: I made the lining with heavy weight canvas to protect tools and supplies, and protect the exterior of the bag from being snagged by sharper tools. Carpet knitting needles case features: Zipper: Metal zipper closure. Interior Lining: To ensure the needles could be inserted and taken out smoothly, I made lining with Polypropylene, which is also resistant to scratches and tears. Organizers: The interior feathers 3 1"W pockets, 3 1.5" pockets, 7 2" pockets and 1 4" pocket, perfect to organize full set of straight needles, scissors and DPNs. (Small case for needles sized 7-11" and Large case for 12" - 14" needles.)
