This 39 track box set contains every A side issued by Punk legends U.K. Subs over the past 40 years. From National Chart hit singles like Tomorrows Girls, Stranglehold and Warhead through to rarer tracks like Reclaim The Streets and Drunken Sailor right up to the most recent Predator and The Beast 45's this chronological set is a must for collectors. Each album comes in it's own sleeve with individual inner bags with the music pressed on purple, yellow, orange and green vinyl's. Added in is a highly detailed and illustrated 16 page 10 booklet giving the lowdown on each release.

A rather routine slab of bluesy, heavy rock, it made the Top 50. Aside from  Bolin 's extended hard rock riffing, it prominently featured the lead vocals of  Candy Givens, who affected a blues-wailing pose along the lines of  Janis Joplin. But she didn't have the full throat or guts to back it up, ending up closer to also-ran female psychedelic singers like  Lydia Pense  (of  Cold Blood).  Zephyr  recorded one more album before  Bolin  left for stints with  James Gang,  Deep Purple, and a solo career; the group carried on throughout the 1970s. The band's debut finds  Bolin  already developed as a skilled player, but his playing, and the largely group-penned material, lack strength or subtlety. The most distinctive trait of the band at this point, in fact, is the somewhat histrionic singing of lead vocalist  Candy Givens.

STANLEY CLARKE: I WANNA PLAY FOR YOU [UK 1979] LPx2/GAT STANLEY CLARKE: I WANNA PLAY FOR YOU [UK 1979] LPx2/GAT (Epic - CBS)  1979  made in UK cat. num.  EPC 22133 #jazz rock  #jazz funk  #fusion   A1 Rock 'N' Roll Jelly 2:35 A2 All About 5:15 A3 Jamaican Boy 3:27 A4 Christopher Ivanhoe 3:22 A5 My Greatest Hits 6:28 B1 Strange Weather 1:45 B2 I Wanna Play For You 6:20 B3 Just A Feeling 6:02 B4 The Streets Of Philadelphia 5:55 C1 School Days 10:43 C2 Quiet Afternoon 9:00 D1 Together Again 5:40 D2 Blues For Mingus 2:18 D3 Off The Planet 3:10 D4 Hot Fun-Closing 7:50   Stanley Clarke  stretches his muscles and comes up with a mostly impressive, polystylistic, star-studded double album (now on one CD) that gravitates ever closer to the R&B mainstream.  Clarke 's writing remains strong and his tastes remain unpredictable, veering into rock, electronic music, acoustic jazz, even reggae in tandem with British rocker  Jeff Beck.  Clarke 's excursion into disco, "Just a Feeling," is surprisingly and infectiously successful, thanks to a good bridge and  George Duke 's galvanizingly funky work on the Yamaha electric grand piano (his finest moment with  Clarke  by far). The brief "Blues for Mingus," a wry salute from one master bassist to another (Mingus  died about six months before this album's release), is a cool acoustic breather for piano trio, and the eloquent  Stan Getz  can be detected, though nearly buried under the garish vocals and rock-style mix, on "The Streets of Philadelphia." Yet even the talented  Clarke  in full creative flower couldn't quite fill a double set with new material, so he has a tendency to reprise some of his old memorable riffs a lot, and there are several energetic snapshots of his live band in action. In its zeal to get this two-LP set onto one disc, Epic deleted three of the original 15 tracks -- including at least one gem, the sizzling hard rocker "All About" -- and scrambled the order of the remaining tunes. Which is dumb, because the missing tracks only take up a bit less than 12 minutes of playing time, not enough to overload a 65-minute disc. Hunt for the double-LP version if you can still play vinyl.

Fundado por Johnny McElhone en 1986, debutó en marzo de 1988 en la Universidad de Dundee. Sharleen escribía sus propias canciones y Gerry hacía las veces de representante y se encargó de introducir al grupo entre las productoras discográficas.Mientras preparaban su primera maqueta, contactaron con Ally McErlaine, para que se hiciera cargo de la guitarra, y con Stuart Keer para la batería.El grupo tomó el nombre definitivo de Texas debido a la influencia que tuvo en ellos la banda sonora de la película 'Paris,Texas', de 1985.En 1988 debutaron y a partir de entonces no pararon de dar conciertos. The album peaked at no. 32 in the UK and spent 4 weeks on the charts. The album saw the release of four singles, the lead single released from Mothers Heaven was entitled " Why Believe in You " which only managed to reach #66 on the UK Singles Charts in September 1991. Follow on single, the alternative rock track, " In My Heart " was released in October 1991 but only managed to reach #74 in the United Kingdom. However, "In My Heart" became Texas's last song to date to chart in the United States, peaking at #14 on the Billboard Hot Rock Tracks chart. The song also reached #44 in France. The release of a third single was based entirely on the success of the band in countries such as France, Spain and other European countries, as the band's singles were doing particularly poorly in their native United Kingdom. The third single, " Alone with You ", saw Texas return to the UK Singles Charts Top 40 (for the first time since their debut single three years earlier), peaking at #32. The single also continued the success of the band in France, reaching #28. The fourth and final single, a remix of the title track "Mothers Heaven" was released in 1992, but failed to chart in any countries. Ironically, after the disappointing performance of singles from the album, the band then released a new cover version of the Al Green classic "Tired of Being Alone", which returned them to the UK Top 20. The track was not available on any album until the band's Greatest Hits album released in 2000. Mothers Heaven is the band's lowest charting album in the UK where it remains uncertified, however, it has been certified Gold in both France and Switzerland. The Inner Sanctum is 17th studio album by Saxon. It is the first album by the band to feature drummer Nigel Glockler since 1997's Unleash the Beast. Saxon formed in 1976, in South Yorkshire. As one of the leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal, they had eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums. The band also had numerous singles in the UK Singles Chart and chart success all over Europe and Japan, as well as success in the US. During the 1980s Saxon established themselves as one of Europe's biggest metal acts. They are considered one of the classic metal acts and have influenced many bands such as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Pantera, Sodom, Skid Row, and Megadeth.

Transvision Vamp were a genuine international pop supernova of the late '80s. Fronted by the irrepressible Wendy James - pop's very own Halo Jones - whose bad-girl charms were impossible to ignore, and informed by the musical vision of Nick Christian Sayer, their sound and look was a kaleidoscopic whirl of chunky guitar riffs, incandescent pop thrills, razor sharp choral hooks, and vivid comic-book imagery. They crashed the charts like a rock and roll wrecking ball, bagging Gold and Platinum-selling albums in a brief but spectacular reign. Both singles - (I Just Wanna) B With U and If Looks Could Kill - from the third album Little Magnets Vs The Bubble Of Babble reached the Top 40 in 1991, but curiously the UK arm of MCA Records decided against releasing the album in the UK. It saw moderate success in Australia, New Zealand and Sweden, but this release is the first time it has been issued individually in the UK. The band broke up in 1992.
