The oil based stains (grey, medium and dark) provide a more natural look if you are concerned about the knots and texture variations in the wood as the stain accentuates the beauty of the wood instead of covering it like paint does. They are sanded and stained by hand. All boards are sealed for protection and durability. •The numbers begin at the 6-inch mark, to allow for baseboards or carpet. Since growth charts are hung on the wall, they are not stained on the back. • For safety purposes we provide screws and recommend screwing the growth charts at the top and bottom into a stud in your wall. This keeps little ones from pulling the board off the wall and onto themselves.
