La canción " But Not Tonight " fue el lado B estándar. " Stripped " y " But Not Tonight " fueron compuestas por Martin Gore. " But Not Tonight " fue incluida en la edición estadounidense de Black Celebration. Los otros lados B fueron las canciones " Breathing in Fumes " y " Black Day ". " Breathing in Fumes " es una nueva canción utilizando samples de " Stripped " y " Black Day " es una versión acústica cantada por Martin Gore, coescrita por Alan Wilder y Daniel Miller, de la canción " Black Celebration " que dio título al álbum. It was the first single from the album Black Celebration, and the band's thirteenth overall and sixth consecutive single to hit the UK Top 20, peaking at number 15. " Stripped " is well known for its innovative use of sampling. The underlying beat is a distorted and slowed-down sound of a motorcycle engine running, while the main melody begins with a car's ignition starting, and the end uses sounds of fireworks. The band's U.S. label Sire Records, however, decided to use the B-side " But Not Tonight " on the soundtrack to the movie Modern Girls and included the song on US editions of Black Celebration. As a result, the single was flipped, and released as " But Not Tonight " in the United States to help promote the movie. The band was not happy with this decision, seeing "But Not Tonight" as a useless pop track recorded in less than a day. The single did not chart. Surprisingly, despite previous criticism of the song by the band, an acoustic version of "But Not Tonight" was sometimes performed by Martin Gore on Depeche Mode’s Delta Machine Tour and is included in the 2014 album "Live in Berlin". The other two B-Sides are " Breathing in Fumes " and " Black Day ". " Breathing in Fumes " was a new song using samples from " Stripped ", mixed by the band and Thomas Stiehler. " Black Day " is an acoustic, alternate version of "Black Celebration" sung by Martin Gore, and is co-written by him, Alan Wilder, and producer Daniel Miller – the only Depeche Mode song where Miller receives a writing credit. The " Highland Mix " of " Stripped " was mixed by Mark Ellis (better known as Flood), who in the future would produce Depeche Mode's Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion records. Some editions of the Black Celebration CD include the extended remix of "But Not Tonight" along with "Black Day" and "Breathing in Fumes" as bonus tracks. The music video for "Stripped" was the last Depeche Mode video to be directed by Peter Care and was filmed outside of Hansa Studios in Berlin. The music video for "But Not Tonight" was directed by Tamra Davis and is available in multiple versions. "Stripped" was featured in the film Say Anything....

The first major-label, digitally recorded album,  Bop  is a nice set of moderately known to obscure tunes from the '50s and '60s (along with a  Cooder / Tim Drummond  original) that doesn't always live up to its promise.  Cooder  and his excellent band, which includes the rhythm section of  Tim Drummond  and  Jim Keltner  along with guitarist  David Lindley, understand the material and are more than capable of laying down a decent groove, but something must have gotten lost in translation from what was played to what came across on the recording. There's a thinness to the tracks that undermines the performances, which according to  Cooder  is due to the digital recording. If you check out the live version of  Bop Till You Drop 's opener, "Little Sister," from the No Nukes record (using the same band), you can see what surely could have been. Still,  Bop  is worthwhile given  Cooder 's penchant for choosing great tunes, as well as the tight performances, brilliant guitar work, and a handful of great guest vocalists (including  Chaka Khan). A few of the highlights include his arrangement of the early-'60s  Elvis  hit "Little Sister," the soulful "The Very Thing That Makes You Rich (Makes Me Poor)," an instrumental take on  Ike & Tina Turner 's "I Think It's Gonna Work Out Fine," and "I Can't Win," featuring  Cooder 's longtime cohort  Bobby King  on lead vocal.

World in My Eyes fue el tema que cerró la promoción del álbum Violator. La carátula de "World in My Eyes" tiene la silueta de alguien haciendo con las manos un forma similar a la de unas gafas. El tema está apoyado en una base electrónica principal sostenida ejecutada por Alan Wilder, como era su costumbre de sonido grave y sobre la cual se conduce toda la función, agregando una serie de notaciones semi-graves siempre de sintetizador y efectos igualmente sólo electrónicos, aderezado con una sugerente letra sobre amor con una cínica proclama a “Mostrar el Mundo en mis Ojos”; un modo de decir el mundo de DM que para ese momento ya gozaba de un considerable éxito. Aunque en apariencia es un tema fácil y quizás hasta efectista, sólo puede ejecutarse con tres sintetizadores pues supone dos bases electrónicas, una disuelta sobre la otra, así como una tercera en los puentes, con lo cual de nuevo cada integrante del grupo adquiría protagonismo en su teclado, mientras la letra no fue muy profunda ni excesivamente pretenciosa. En conjunto de todos sus elementos era un tema un tanto retrospectivo, especialmente considerando la época en que se hizo cuando la música integralmente electrónica estaba ya relegada, incluso por DM que cada vez incorporaba mas cuerdas, sin embargo las bases electrónicas con que está construido son graves otorgándole un cierto sonido pesaroso y oscuro como habían practicado en álbumes anteriores y con lo cual World in My Eyes se convertía en un suave ejercicio de Dark Wave rítmico destinado especialmente a las pistas de baile. Andrew Fletcher de DM ha declarado que éste es su tema favorito de la banda. El sencillo contiene dos lados B, haciendo de Violator el único disco de Depeche Mode cuyos cuatro sencillos tienen al menos un lado B, los de World in My Eyes fueron los temas Happiest Girl y Sea of Sin también de Gore, y de hecho en portada el título del disco sencillo es World in My Eyes / Happiest Girl / Sea of Sin. El tema "Happiest Girl" aparece en su versión Jack Mix y "Sea of Sin" en su versión Tonal Mix, las cuales son las versiones estándar. Versiones "regulares" no hubo, más bien éstas fueron las versiones regulares de acuerdo a las entrevistas y al propio sitio oficial de la banda. "Martin did the demo on his own," recalled Andy Fletcher. "I don't remember it standing out when we heard it then. But somehow, in the studio, it all came together brilliantly… Whenever I'm asked which of our tracks is my favourite, I always say 'World In My Eyes'." The cover art for "World in My Eyes" has a photo of one of the band members making a shape similar to that of glasses with their hands. On the Limited 12", there are pictures of all four members. "World in My Eyes" has two exclusive B-sides, making Violator the only Depeche Mode album with all four singles having at least one exclusive B-Side, including instrumentals. The B-sides for " World in My Eyes " are " Happiest Girl " and " Sea of Sin ". "Happiest Girl (Jack Mix)" and "Sea of Sin (Tonal Mix)" are the main 7" versions. "Original" versions were never released, or rather, these mixes are the regular versions, according to interviews and the official website. Reaching No.17 in UK, and only No.52 on the Hot 100, it is the least successful single from Violator. The 2004 re-release of the EU single includes a longer-intro version of "World in My Eyes (Oil Tank Mix)".
