The engine is also relatively quiet at low speeds, but open the taps and it will take on another angrier character when the V12 reaches full roar. EN 1938, RESUELTA LA SITUACIÓN FINANCIERA DE ALFA ROMEO, ENZO VOLVIÓ A LA COMPAÑÍA, Y EN 1939, SE DESPIDIÓ DE LA MISMA, JUNTO CON LE INGENIERO ESPAÑOL WILFREDO RICART. FERRARI ESTABLECIÓ EN MÓDENA UNA EMPRESA DE PROYECTOS E INGENIERÍA, AUTO AVIO CONSTRUZIONE, RESPETANDO  SUS ACUERDOS CON ALFA ROMEO DE NO HACERLE COMPETENCIA. EN 1940 CONSTRUYÓ DOS PEQUEÑOS COCHES DE CARRERAS, CON EL NOMBRE DE 815, BASADOS EN MODELOS FIAT, CON LOS QUE PARTICIPÓ EN LA CARRERA DE LAS MIL MILLAS. ACABADA LA II GUERRA MUNDIAL, Y EXPIRADOS LOS ACUERDOS CON ALFA ROMEO, EN 1946 EMPEZÓ A PROYECTAR Y FABRICAR AYTOMÓVILES DEPORTIVOS Y DE CARRERAS BAJO LA DENOMINACIÓN FERRARI, GANÁNDOSE UN PUESTO DE HONOR ENTRE LOS FABRICANTES DE DICHOS MODELOS.
