In many hieroglyphics works the lotus is depicted as emerging from Nun (the primordial water) bearing the Sun God.As something that is associated with rebirth, it is no surprise that the lotus flower is also associated with death, and the famous Egyptian book of the dead is known to include spells that are able to transform a person into a lotus, thus allowing for resurrection.Another interesting fact about the lotus flower meaning to the Egyptians was the way that it was New as a symbol for the unification of the two Egyptian kingdoms, that is to say the bonding of upper and lower Egypt. Sheepland Ltd is our family run sheepskin business, we've been lovingly handcrafting our Slippers and accessories in our Somerset Workshop since 1986, which enjoys views of Glastonbury Tor. We pride ourselves on using British materials, e.g. British wool and sheepskin as much as possible to keep this traditional industry alive. These suede and lambswool Moccasins are still made by hand using the traditional methods right here in Somerset. The lining is a wool lining, which is literally sheared from the sheep in the Spring and is later affixed to a backing fabric, which means it is much less expensive then whole sheepskin. The wool lining is natural undyed wool and gives a cosy inside which will keep you warm throughout the Winter months. These Suede Moccasins can be made without a sole (soft sole) or with a firm rubber sole to allow you to pop outside if need be. We would recommend ordering your usual size, if you are a half size we would suggest ordering up a size. These Suede Moccasins are perfect for all the family, without the price tag of pure sheepskin, these wool lined Moccasins really are the next best thing. Generally, these Moccasins run on the smaller side, we find most customers prefer to order up a size as they do not like a snug fit, have a broader foot or wish to wear socks. Our Moccasins are made to a standard width fitting. Please note: these cannot be personalised, we use this box to ask for your telephone number for delivery. There are many C marks, where the marbles have hit rocks during their time in the North Sea. This is a feature which makes your sea glass marble more unique. The marble has not been channel drilled, it is set in the silver wrapping without having been altered. Marble is between 16-18mm diameter. Codd marbles are approx 80-100 years old. Every marble is unique and if the Sea has been rough, there are lovely tumble marks on it. Occasionally a marble might have a small piece missing, but they are all frosted. This is a feature and makes your marble that bit more special. SIZE Marble is approx 16-18mm diameter Optional 18" sterling silver chain or complimentary silver plated chain in (16"/18"/20"/22" or 24") length CODD MARBLES: The Codd-neck bottle was designed and manufactured to enclose a marble and a rubber washer/gasket in the neck. The bottles are filled upside down, and pressure of the gas in the bottle forced the marble against the washer, sealing in the carbonation. The bottle was pinched into a special shape, as can be seen in the photo to the right, to provide a chamber into which the marble was pushed to open the bottle. This prevented the marble from blocking the neck as the drink was poured. Codd bottles were used until the 1920s in Scotland/UK. Sea glass marble found on the rough coasts of Scotland. This marble has not been altered in any way, there is no glue or channel drilling involved in this piece of jewellery. It is important to me that the marble is 'untouched' just the way it was found on the beach. Marbles are round, ball shaped, spheres. All pictures taken inside without flash.
