Época: Primera Mitad S.XIX Autor: Desconocido. Material: Hierro. Conservación: Muy Buena. Medidas: Alto: 22’6 cm.                 Ancho: 10,3 cm.                 Grueso: 1,5 cm. Peso: 142 gr.   Descripción: - Bonito compás de brazos curvos, de la Primera Mitad del S.XIX. Esta herramienta era utilizada para transportar distancias en diversos talleres, como carpintería, escultura metalistería, etc. Así como también utilizada a pie de obra.  - El compás está realizado en hierro, con los brazos trabajados en sus bordes interiores, formando una bonita forma simétrica. - El bulón del eje de giro está remachado cuidadosamente en sus extremos.  - En el eje de giro del compás, se ha introducido una delgadísima chapa de acero entre los dos brazos, con el fin de mejorar la facilidad de giro. - Este compás tiene una fantástica pátina, por lo que, unido a sus características se puede situar en la Segunda Mitad del S.XVIII, e incluso podría llegar a ser de una época muy anterior. - Las formas que tienen los bordes interiores de los brazos del compás corresponden al S.XVIII e incluso a épocas anteriores, formas que se mantuvieron al menos en la Primera Mitad del S.XIX. Ello implica una gran dificultad para poder situar al compás en una época concreta, por lo que nos hemos inclinado en situarlo en la antedicha Primera Mitad del S.XIX. - Las irregularidades que se pueden apreciar en las terminaciones nos confirman su ejecución manual en su integridad y, por lo tanto, su posible época más temprana. - En la ejecución del compás, se han cuidado minuciosamente las terminaciones, lo que puede apreciarse en todos sus aspectos, y más concretamente en las formas que tienen los bordes interiores de los brazos y en los magníficos remaches laterales de la cabeza. - No se ha detectado en el compás ningún tipo de signo o marca que pueda identificar a los autores de tan magnífica pieza.   Conservación y desperfectos: - El estado del compás es “excelente”, ya que no sufre ninguna oxidación y no presenta signos de haber sido usado. - El inusitado estado de conservación del compás, es tan magnífico que induce a la equivocación para datarlo correctamente. - El compás se abre y se cierra perfectamente, pudiendo dar la vuelta por completo a los brazos.   Comentarios: - Tanto las Medidas como el Peso, son aproximados. - Muy interesante como pieza de colección y como elemento decorativo. - Debido a que es inevitable las diferencias de tonalidades entre fotos y realidad, se debe tener presente que los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son exactamente iguales a los tonos de los colores reales. - El Objeto presenta el desgaste propio de su tiempo, así como algunas manchas. Measures: Height: 22'6 cm.                    Width: 10,3 cm.                    Thickness: 1,5 cm. Weight: 142 gr.   Description: - Nice curved arms compass, from the First Half of the XIX century. This tool was used to transport distances in diverse workshops, like carpentry, sculpture metalwork, etc. As well as also used on site.  - The compass is made of iron, with the arms worked on their inner edges, forming a beautiful symmetrical shape. - The pin of the turning axis is carefully riveted at its ends.  - In the compass rotation axis, a very thin steel plate has been introduced between the two arms, in order to improve the ease of rotation. - This compass has a fantastic patina, so that, together with its characteristics, it can be placed in the Second Half of the 18th century, and it could even be from a much earlier period. - The forms that have the inner edges of the arms of the compass correspond to the XVIII century and even to previous times, forms that were maintained at least in the First Half of the XIX century. This implies a great difficulty to be able to locate the compass in a concrete time, reason why we have inclined in locating it in the mentioned First Half of the XIX century. - The irregularities that can be appreciated in the endings confirm its complete manual execution and, therefore, its possible earliest period. - In the execution of the compass, great care has been taken with the endings, which can be seen in all its aspects, and more specifically in the shapes of the inner edges of the arms and the magnificent side rivets of the head. - No sign or mark has been detected on the compass that could identify the authors of such a magnificent piece.   Conservation and damage: - The state of the compass is "excellent", since it does not suffer any oxidation and does not present signs of having been used. - The unusual state of conservation of the compass, is so magnificent that it induces to the mistake to date it correctly. - The compass opens and closes perfectly, being able to completely turn the arms.   Comments: - Both the measures and the weight are approximate. - Very interesting as a collection piece and as a decorative element. - Because it is inevitable the differences of tonalities between photos and reality, you must bear in mind that the tones of the colors of the photos are not exactly equal to the tones of the real colors. - The object has the wear and tear of its time, as well as some stains.
